About Me!
Hello there, I'm Dereck Atwater!
I'm an actor, singer, dancer, and voice-over artist born and raised in Maryland! I was introduced to the performing arts at a very young age as I followed along in my sister’s footsteps. Since attending a performing arts school at the age of eight, my passion for telling stories and bringing them to life has grown daily.
Once I got to Nazareth College (now University) in 2018, I began to hone my skills and identify what I wanted to strive for as an artist. Through gallons of sweat, dozens of dance shoes, and tears of many types, I continued to realize the importance of authenticity in every phase of my life as an artist. Whether on a national tour or waiting tables, I try to keep authenticity at the core of everything I do, especially in my doings behind the scenes. I am also an advocate for being your true self and always striving to find enjoyment in every process. After all,

I cannot say I am an artist without the things that make up who I am without the art. My family has always been a major support system for me and they motivate me every day! I also love to travel, explore new places and cuisines, and meet new people. Whether I am in the rehearsal room or working a temporary job, I love finding ways to collaborate with others to help achieve our goals. When I am not in the rehearsal room though, you can find me outside with my two massive Great Pyrenees puppies or exploring the streets of historic small towns. Each of these makes up the unique aspects of me as an artist and with them, it enriches what I have to offer as a well-rounded and versatile artist in the world of performing arts.
